Standard four: Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments.
Why is standard four important?
I will involve my students by working and engaging with students who have difficulty learning by interacting with the student and incorporating their interest into classroom lessons. I used lots of visual learning methods through picture diagrams, videos and online games where students could engage as a class. I believe it is also critical to build a relationship and communicate with parents/carers to create more effective ways to motivate the student both at home and in school, this could help create a safe and accountable classroom. Building connections and relationships with parents and carers gave me a good indication of why some students were behaving the way they were in the classroom. I was lucky enough to be involved in the first official parents and staff meeting.

Action Plan 4: where to from here?
All of my students during term were given the opportunity to participate and engage in classroom discussions and classroom activities. I was able to manage poor student behaviour by following the school behaviour management strategy. As a negative consequence students got a warning and a dojo was taken off. After that, if that student still misbehaved they were given in class time out. The next step was where the student was sent to another room which is also called (Tap class), and lastly if the student still misbehaved then they were sent to the office. Very few students went through the negative consequences of the behavioural management book (the red book).
I am always consistent in my expectations and learnt to provide positive incentives as the term progressed to encourage students to improve on and finish work assigned to them. I believe I provided a safe and supportive learning environment. I always used ICT safely and responsibly and encouraged the students to do likewise. I always checked videos before I showed them to the students, so that relevant and appropriate details were shown to the students. I also made sure that the videos were of the appropriate rating. Moving on to Term 4, because I am working at the school, I have made myself very familiar with the classroom behavioural book.
